Les Mini-Toques Culinary Challenge, Perpignan, France

The patron of this 11th edition is Laurent Lemal, Bocuse d'Or France, starred chef at the restaurant La Coopérative Hôtel Ribérach in Belesta.

The SIST Perpignan-Méditerranée is organising this event in partnership with the Toques Blanches du Roussillon association, the CFA Sud Formation of the CCI, the SYDETOM66 and the Chamber of Agriculture.

The Mini Toques culinary challenge is part of the mission to educate people about taste and a balanced diet.

A tasting panel, chaired by Jean Plouzenec, President of the Toques Blanches du Roussillon, assisted by Toques Blanches chefs and institutional representatives, including Olivier Sales, will taste and score each of the dishes using an evaluation grid in order to select the winners.

The Challenge is open to all children of cm1/cm2 of the SIST PM territory.

NEW in 2017: notion of food waste and waste sorting with the help of SYDETOM66 .

The aim is to make children aware of the art of eating well, eating seasonal vegetables and using local produce.

The goal: To make a recipe based on fresh vegetables, according to a basket of vegetables imposed either :

Broad beans, Béa du Roussillon potatoes, button mushrooms, Toulouges red onions

Other vegetables can be added to the recipe, meat, fish and alcohol are excluded.

The Reading Committee, composed of Toques Blanches chefs, selected 10 finalists from among the 160 recipes received, according to a set of criteria

On the day of the final, the 10 children will be paired with an apprentice from the CFA of the CCI, whose mission will be to accompany the child in all the delicate steps, under the watchful eye of the chefs of the Toques Blanches du Roussillon.
